Affordable Dental Care for Your Child Starts Here

As a parent, your child’s health always comes first and that includes their dental care. We know the cost of treatment can sometimes feel overwhelming, but getting quality care for your child shouldn’t be a financial burden.

At Nelson Street Medical Centre Fairfield, we help families access affordable dental treatment through the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS), making it easier for children to receive the care they need without added stress.

Through this government-supported program, your child may be eligible for essential dental services at little to no out-of-pocket cost, while receiving high-quality care from our experienced team.

What is the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)?

The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) is an Australian Government initiative designed to support eligible children aged 2 to 17 with access to basic dental care.

Eligible children can receive up to $1,095 in dental benefits over two consecutive calendar years, which can be used toward a range of essential services, including preventive and general dental treatments.

The aim of the scheme is to help families maintain their children’s oral health without the worry of high dental expenses. At Nelson Street Medical Centre Fairfield, we can guide you through the process and help make accessing these benefits simple and stress-free.

How Does the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) Work?

The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) helps eligible children in the Western Sydney area access essential dental care with reduced or no out-of-pocket costs, making quality treatment more accessible for families.

Through this scheme, eligible children may receive a range of benefits, including:

  • Complimentary dental check-ups and screenings for all children at our clinic.
  • Eligible CDBS patients can receive treatment covered through Medicare, meaning no out-of-pocket costs for approved services at our clinic.
  • For children not eligible under CDBS, we can discuss alternative treatment options and affordable care plans so they can still receive the dental support they need.

Our goal is simple to help every child access the care they deserve in a way that is affordable, supportive, and stress-free for families.

Who Is Eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)?

There’s no need to apply separately or register for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS). If your child qualifies, the Australian Government will notify you directly of their eligibility.

Your child may be eligible for CDBS if all of the following apply:

  • They are enrolled in Medicare
  • They are between 0 and 17 years old for at least one day during the calendar year
  • You or your child receive an eligible government payment at least once during that year

If eligible, your child may be able to access valuable dental benefits to support their oral health, making essential treatment more affordable for your family.
